Assassin’s Creed Unity: Walking in between Victory and Oblivion?
Release Date october 28, 2014
This year at E3 many of us were so ready for the new Assassin’s Creed Unity and what Ubisoft had to bring to the table this year. As the Assassin Creed fandom grows with each day Ubisoft is going to have to consider new ground in order to keep the fandom alive. You can already see where this is leading to but I will side with the females in regards to their representation in Assassin Creed Games.
The excuses I’m sure you’ve seen all over social media have been buzzing all over. Which in my opinion is no excuse. If your fandom has a lot of female support, you need to represent them somehow some way. Speaking from a guy’s perspective, most of the video games created are for male consumption.
And if you don’t catch my drift look at how most females are dressed in their games *cough* Heavenly Sword. But that’s just my brief two cents on the matter. Feel free to leave a comment or send a message on our tumblr page since I’ve seen many different perspectives on the matter there. Even Kotaku shared their thoughts about that as Sunset Overdrive capitalized on the backlash.
And another topic many fans are speaking out on is getting out of Europe. I hear a lot about just overall wanting to see Assassin Creed take on different cultures. Which this franchise has the platform since the creed tends to cover nearly anyone who is willing to join the cause.
Anyways, I’m going to jump off this topic and cover other Assassin’s Creed news.
Assassin’s Creed Unity Gameplay:
I’m actually looking forward to the new co-op gameplay for what better way to take advantage of the internet. And for the fact that many times you need your own goon squad to take down high level people. No pun intended against Altair.
From the live gameplay of AC Unity seems pretty much the same. But it looks like more development went into more co-op than individual abilities. But speaking of abilities. There was this move where it seems like he does the signiture leap of faith jump but instead catches himself on a pole and flips himself to the next ledge.
That move itself was pretty epic and I wonder if there are more incorporated into the game. Either way from the looks of it everything got a bit of a upgrade besides the fighting. Judging from the E3 presentation. Some people get turned off byt he fighting in the the overall Assassin’s Creed franchise and even when I started with AC Brotherhood I was a bit turned off myself until I got the hang of it.
But one thing to take away from, the franchise is covering many fronts and can only do so much. And if Ubisoft keeps their word on releasing a new Assassin Creed game every year maybe they will do something about the fighting techniques.
Despite this I’m liking how AC Unity will be making us truly feel like a co-op and to make the feel of AC Brotherhood feel more realistic. To truly call on your friends for help and they come to your rescue or vice verse. I think that is the part many fans are looking forward to.
Overall everyone seems pretty content with Assassin’s Creed Unity except the female part but many fans were pleased with the trailer and the press release. I’m looking forward to the game since I do consider myself apart of the Assassin’s Creed Fandom. But one thing I have been hearing buzzing around the net is Arno may be an Assassin and not a Templar but again I haven’t confirmed that theory.
Regardless enjoy the official Assassin Creed Unity trailer. I enjoyed and I will be checking out the song they used in the trailer. Sounds pretty epic but many songs are always listened to differently when tied to a video game, especially an epic one like Assassin’s Creed Unity
